The Ospreys recorded 12 shots on the day, including seven shots on goal. Enrique Haeussler and Calvin Lowe each scored their first goals of the season. Haeussler scored on a free kick in the first half for his first goal as an Osprey, while Lowe took a cross from Josh Ciambella to pull UNF to within one of the visitors.
Goalkeeper Andrew Calise was back between the posts for the first time since the first match of the season after sustaining an injury. In his return, Calise made nine saves on the day, tying the junior for the third most saves in a match in UNF history.
The Ospreys fell behind in the first half, but rallied to make the match an exciting contest.
Lipscomb's Garrett McLaughlin started the scoring for the Bison. The midfielder headed the ball off of a corner from Nick Bibb and put the ball in the back right corner of the net for the first goal of the match.
In the 32nd minute of the match, the Bison's Miguel DaSilva received a pass from Angel Chairez and beat the UNF goalie one-on-one to put visitors ahead 2-0.
A foul inside the box set up a penalty kick for Lipscomb. Calise dove to his left and knocked the ball away from the goal to prevent the Bison from the free goal.
However, the Bison would not stay out of the goal for long. In the 42nd minute of the match, Juan Pacheco sent a long pass from the left side of the field to Tyler Burkhardt in front of the box for an easy tap-in goal.
Trailing 3-0, the Ospreys trimmed the deficit with a goal. In the 43rd minute, Haeussler took a free kick from just outside of the penalty box and put the ball in the back of the net for UNF's first goal of the match.
Neither team scored in the final two minutes of the half and entered intermission with Lipscomb leading 3-1.
In the second half, the Ospreys were fouled in the box and had a penalty kick opportunity. Haeussler lined up for the PK, but Lipscomb's keeper Brent McGee corralled the ball before it broke the plane.
Lowe pulled
In the final 15 minutes, the Ospreys had opportunities to knot the score, but were unable to convert. UNF's best opportunity came as Lowe had a one-on-one chance against the goalie, but sent the ball over the crossbar.
North Florida returns to action next weekend as the Ospreys travel to play USC Upstate on Friday night and
