JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida Men's Soccer Head Coach Marlon Montanella announced the addition of Assistant Coach Adam Butler on Friday.Â
Butler most recently served as the Head Coach at Eastern Florida College, where he led the Titans to a 50-15-5 record and a third-straight NJCAA Division I National Tournament appearance in four seasons from 2022-25.Â
"I'm thrilled to welcome Adam Butler as our new Assistant Coach for the North Florida Men's Soccer program," Montanella said. "Adam brings a wealth of experience at the collegiate level, great knowledge of the game, strong eye for recruiting and a proven competitive edge from his previous roles. He also has a deep understanding of the Florida soccer landscape. We're incredibly excited to welcome Adam and his family to North Florida and the Jacksonville community."
"I'm excited to join the North Florida Men's Soccer program and would like to thank the administration and Coach Montanella for the opportunity to be part of something special," Bulter added.
Butler led Eastern Florida to a 12-4-1 record and coached a pair of Titans to 2025 United Soccer Coaches Junior College Division I All-America Team selections. The Titans claimed the Region 8 Tournament and Southwest District title for the third-straight season.Â
The London, England native arrived at Eastern Florida from Coastal Bend College, where he led the program to its first-ever Region XIV Regular Season Championship and its first NJCAA Division I National Championship Tournament berth in 2021.Â
Butler was a standout for Southwestern Christian University, where he earned Sooner Athletic Conference First Team All-Conference honors in 2014 and 2015, and a National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Region Second Team nod in 2015. Butler became the program's first NAIA All-American in 2015.Â
After graduation, Butler became the top Assistant Coach for the Eagles and helped lead the program to 2016, 2017 and 2018 National Christian Athletic Association Championship titles with a 54-14-7 overall record.Â
Butler competed with the Vermont Voltage, Laredo Heat and Mississippi Brilla, before serving on staff with the UPSL's Oklahoma City 1889. He holds a USSF National B Coaching License.Â
