Â
KENNESAW, Ga. – For the University of North Florida women's basketball team, Saturday's Atlantic Sun Conference matchup at Kennesaw State will mark the 25th all-time meeting between the two and make the Lady Owls the Lady Ospreys' most-faced opponent.
UNF (5-17, 4-9 A-Sun) has faced Kennesaw State (9-11, 6-6) and Florida Tech 24 times each to date, and the Lady Ospreys split the decisions with Florida Tech while KSU claims a 14-10 advantage in the series.
The latest battle between UNF and KSU ended in a 60-50 Lady Owl victory at UNF Arena on Jan. 7. Senior Jennifer Bowen scored 16 points in the contest, which was her third-straight double-digit scoring performance, and came down with a team-high five rebounds.
Greteya Kelly joined Bowen as the game's leading scorer with 16 points of her own. Kelly has been KSU's leading scorer in four of the last seven games, including the past two. She scored 16 points in the Lady Owls most recent 69-64 loss to Jacksonville after notching 19 points in a 73-57 win against Campbell.
The Lady Ospreys have won three of their last five with wins against Stetson, USC Upstate and A-Sun leader East Tennessee State. After knocking off ETSU two games ago, the Lady Ospreys fell in their last game against Mercer, 65-61.
Kennesaw State allows a conference second-worst 68.1 points per game and scores 66.3 points per game, which is god for fourth in the league. The Lady Owls shoot a league-low 26.8 percent from beyond the 3-point line.

Who's Hot: Senior Jennifer Guldager achieved a milestone for the Lady Osprey program by making her 97th career start against Mercer. That feat moves her into second place all-time on the career games started list behind Skye Barber (108 games started). Guldager has been the driving force behind the Lady Ospreys' defensive pressure as of late and has been instrumental on the glass. She grabbed 11 boards in UNF's last outing at Mercer after pulling down the same number in a Lady Osprey upset win against East Tennessee State. Guldager is averaging 9.25 rebounds per game in the last four games.
Quoting Coach Tappmeyer: "We must shoot the ball well to be successful. We have been very streaky in that area and need to shoot with consistency. We did a good job on the defensive end in the first half against Mercer and have to keep that intensity up for 40 minutes."
