Game 2 Box Score

Devyn Findley and Shaina dent each threw three-hitters for the Lady Ospreys (4-10), while Kara Rutenbar and Britanie Block had a hit in each end of the doubleheader.
“In the second game we were swinging at better pitches and we hit the ball hard,” UNF head coach Marcie Hickey said. “We were putting together hits and that led to runs. We weren't making good adjustments in the first game and had way too many strikeouts.”
Dent hit three batters and walked another to spot the Great Danes a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning of the nightcap. UNF countered in the bottom of the frame on back-to-back doubles by Block and Ashley Battaglia. The Lady Ospreys, however, failed to score when Block was thrown out trying to cross the plate on Battaglia's double to left.
The Lady Ospreys tied the game in the bottom of the second, taking advantage of a walk and a Kristine Bill error in left field to score their first run of the day. Torre led off the inning with a walk, advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt then came home to score on an Airen Payne base hit that Bill couldn't handle.
UNF took the lead an inning later when Ariana Godwin scored from second on a Battaglia single.
Amanda Mosely added a pair of insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth inning when she doubled home Rutenbar and Bailey. The Lady Ospreys pounded out seven hits in the game, with Battaglia collecting two of those, including her conference leading sixth double of the season.
Dent (4-1) settled down from her early inning control problems, retiring 11 of the last 13 hitters she faced. The UNF freshman did not allow a hit after the third inning and only walked one hitter after hitting four batters and walking one in the first two innings of play. She allowed only three hits in the win and struck out seven.
The Lady Ospreys mustered only three hits off of Leah McIntosh in the opener with Block, Rutenbar and Allyson Bailey all reaching on singles. McIntosh proved to be too tough, striking out 13 Lady Ospreys and walking only one.
Findley (0-7) struck out seven and allowed only three hits of her own but ran into trouble in the top of the third when she walked home the only run of the contest.
In its 10 losses this season, UNF has either been shut out or scored only one run, while the Lady Ospreys have scored multiple runs in their four wins.
