Ospreys will need to win two to retain title
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - For the second year in a row, it all comes down to America's favorite pastime to decide which school will reign supreme in the SunTrust River City Rumble between the University of North Florida and Jacksonville University.
The Ospreys need to take 2-of-3 from the Dolphins to retain the SunTrust Old Wooden Barrel with the standings currently tied at eight. UNF clinched the Rumble last year by taking 2-of-3 from JU at Sessions Stadium. The Ospreys have a shot at moving into third place in the Atlantic Sun Conference with a sweep.
UNF jumps back into action after taking the week off for final exams. In their last time out, the Ospreys defeated Bethune-Cookman 8-1 last Thursday at Harmon Stadium. Sophomore T.J. Thompson led UNF against the Wildcats, going 3-for-5 with three RBIs, while junior RHP Ty Pryor allowed just two hits in picking up his fifth win of the season.
JU is coming off a 17-7 loss to Georgia Southern on Wednesday and fell 3-1 to Bethune-Cookman on Tuesday. The Dolphins have lost three straight and are 1-7 in their past eight games. JU ranks sixth in the A-Sun with a .295 team batting average and also ranks sixth in team pitching with 5.54 ERA.
