Ospreys, Bruins to square off in Nashville on Saturday
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The University of North Florida men's basketball team will try to erase the bad taste of Thursday night's loss at Lipscomb when it travels across town in Nashville to face Belmont on Saturday afternoon.
The Ospreys are still seeking their first conference win of the season, and they will square off against the first- place Bruins hoping to knock them out of first place and also to avenge a 55-point loss in Nashville last season. UNF has not beaten the Bruins since joining the A-Sun. Belmont has represented the conference in the NCAA Tournament in each of the last two seasons.
UNF's Tom Hammonds has been the leading scorer for the Ospreys this season but was held scoreless for the first time this year on Thursday night in UNF's 74-42 loss at Lipscomb. The junior was 0-for-12 from the floor, and the Ospreys as a team shot just 29 percent from the floor.
Saturday's game will feature the higest scoring team in the A-Sun (Belmont at 81.2 ppg) and the lowest- scoring squad (UNF at 58.1 ppg).
