JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida Men's Basketball Head Coach Bobby Kennen announced Friday the signing of Eddie Placer, a 6-5 senior guard from Wagner College.Â
Â
"We are excited to welcome Eddie Placer and his family to North Florida," Kennen said. "He brings toughness, versatility and a competitive spirit that fits exactly who we are and how we want to play. He has a high IQ and a skill set to play multiple positions. He is a proven player, and his experience will greatly benefit our program."
Â
Placer played in 30 games with 14 starts and averaged 8.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 25.8 minutes per game at Wagner in 2025-26. He totaled 10 or more points in 12 games and 20 or more in two games last season. He notched a Division-I career-high 26 points on 7-10 from three and 5-5 from the free-throw line in 30 minutes at Central Connecticut State on Feb. 7.Â
Â
The Orlando, Fla. native also spent a season at both USC Upstate in 2023-24 and Daytona State College in 2024-25. Placer is the younger brother of former North Florida guard Jose Placer, who played for the Ospreys from 2019-23.Â
Â
Placer joins transfers Elijah Elliott (Ohio, Orlando, Fla.) and Hedrens "Jr" Bartelus (Chipola College, Lake Worth, Fla.) and a high school class of Isaiah Brown (Stranahan High School, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), Christopher Perry (Bradwell Institute, Hinesville, Ga.) and Asa Kohn (Hagerty High School, Oviedo, Fla.).
