Natalia Sanchez delivers for UNF at No. 1 singles
ORLANDO, Fla. - The University of North Florida women's tennis team fell 6- 1 at UCF in a non-conference match on Wednesday afternoon.
The Knights (3-4) swept the Lady Ospreys in doubles and collected all but the No. 1 position in singles. Natalia Sanchez delivered for UNF (2-4) at the top spot by knocking off UCF's Elvira Serrot 6-3, 6-7, 1-0 (12- 10).
"We had a poor performance," UNF head coach Igal Buberman said. "We started slow in doubles knowing that it would put a lot of pressure on our team in singles. We are still trying to get our heads up from a slow start to the season, even though we had a great fall. I think the players' focus is still not there, but I am confident we will be able to come back and achieve our goal of finishing the conference season undefeated."
UNF returns to action on Sunday when it plays host to College of Charleston at the UNF Tennis Complex. Match time is set for 10:30 a.m.
