UNF faces Savannah State on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The University of North Florida men's basketball team will take to the highways again on Tuesday when it travels to Savannah, Ga., to face off against Savannah State in a non-conference matchup. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at Tiger Arena.
The Ospreys (1-4) will look to win for the first time in five tries at Savannah State and for the first time on the road this season. Savannah State, meanwhile, is 3-1 at home this month with wins over Carver College, South Carolina-Aiken and Emmanuel College. The Tigers have road losses at Wisconsin, Colorado and Jacksonville.
UNF will hope to improve on its recent scoring woes. The Ospreys are averaging just 57 points per game through five contests, which include matchups against Maryland, Tulsa and Florida. UNF dropped a 72-61 decision to Charleston Southern at home on Friday, despite getting solid performance from seniors James Grimball (15 points, 10 rebounds) and Chris Timberlake (13 points, seven assists). Timberlake needs just two more 3-pointers made to tie for the school's career record in that category.
