Andrea Garcia Fernandez joined North Florida women's tennis as an assistant in August of 2023.
During the 2025 season, she assisted the Ospreys to a 12-8 overall mark paired with a 7-2 record in conference competition and the No. 2 seed as the hosts of the ASUN Championship tournament. She was vital to the development of two All-ASUN selections, two ASUN All-Freshman selections and a two-time ASUN Player of the Week honoree. She also boasted an ASUN All-Academic Team honoree, along with all eight players making the ASUN Academic Honor Roll.
In her first season as an assistant coach with UNF, she helped the team reach a 12-10 overall record, including a 7-3 mark in ASUN play. She also assisted in developing Amy Kaplan as a First Team All-ASUN selection, as well as Alisa Lyshko as an ASUN All-Freshman selection.
Garcia Fernandez spent two years with Mercer as a graduate assistant coach before arriving at North Florida. Garcia Fernandez was heavily involved with Mercer's operations on and off the court during her time in Macon. She helped design leadership and training programs, factoring heavily into the construction of workout and practice plans. Garcia Fernandez also garnered experience in operations, helping manage the team's annual budget reports, travel, meals and other related duties.
Prior to that she put together arguably the best career in Florida State women's tennis history, setting FSU's program wins record, while surpassing 200 for her career. Garcia Fernandez would earn all-american status on the courts for the Noles.
The native of Spain owns a bachelor's degree from Florida State as well as an MBA from Mercer.
