Former UNF point guard Kayla Sheldon will begin her first season as a graduate assistant for the lady Ospreys after completing her playing career during the 2005-06 season.

As a senior, 2005-06: Started 26 games, missing two because of a knee injury ... was second on the team in minutes, averaging 26.8 per game ... led the team with 91 assists and 47 steals ... averaged 3.7 points and 2.9 rebounds a game ... set a career-high with 13 points against Bethune-Cookman on Feb. 22, then matched that number on Feb. 23 in an upset win against regular season A-Sun champ Belmont ... had a season-high six assists in back-to-back games against Campbell and Kennesaw State on Feb. 4 and Feb. 9, respectively ... had a season-high six steals at Lipscomb on Jan. 26.
As a junior, 2004-05: Saw action in 27 of 29 games, with 26 starts ... led the team in minutes, averaging 29.9 per game ... averaged 3.9 points a game and was sixth on the team with 3.0 rebounds per game ... led the team with 3.3 assists per game and 56 steals on the year ... had a season high seven assists twice on the season (Nov. 20 against Edward Waters and Jan. 22 against Francis Marion) ... scored a season high 10 points on 3-of-3 shooting beyond the arc in the team[apos]s first meeting with Francis Marion on Nov. 26 in the Lady Osprey Holiday Classic ... hit 2-of-3 3-pointers against both Georgia College & State (Jan. 19) and UNC Pembroke (Feb. 5), scoring 10 points against GC&SU and eight points against UNCP ... scored eight points against Lander (Jan. 29) and Armstrong Atlantic (Feb. 23), hitting 4-of-4 shots from the field against AASU ... season high of seven steals came against Columbus State on Jan. 26 ... had five steals against USC Upstate in the first round of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament on March 1.
As a sophomore 2003-04: Started eight games, averaging 4.1 points and three assists before injuring her knee against Rollins Dec. 18 and sitting out the rest of the season ... hit 2-of-3 three-pointers to go along with six assists and three steals in a win against Florida Tech Nov. 16 ... scored seven points to go along with seven assists in a win at Florida Tech Dec. 4 ... dished out four assists and collected three steals in a win against South Atlantic regional foe Catawba Dec. 17 at the Lady Osprey Holiday Classic.
As a freshman 2002-03: Started all 32 games for the Lady Ospreys at point guard, finishing second on the team with 117 assists ... averaged 3.2 points per game to go along with 3.3 rebounds ... finished second on the team with 78 steals and third on the squad with 106 rebounds ... hit a season-high eight points in three separate games ... dished out nine assists in a win against Flagler College and eight assists in both meetings against Georgia College & State ... collected six steals in the team[apos]s first meeting with Georgia College & State and the Jan. 15 meeting with Columbus State ... hit 5-of-8 free throws in postseason play, including the game-winner against Columbus State in the regional semifinal.
