Tasha Washington joined the University of North Florida women’s basketball staff as an assistant coach in June 2014. She oversees UNF’s guard play and assists with recruiting and scouting.

Washington comes to UNF from Lincoln Memorial in Harrogate, Tenn. She was an assistant coach with the Lady Railsplitter program for three years. During her first season in 2011-12, Lincoln Memorial notched its first winning season since the 2004-05 year. This past season, Lincoln Memorial went 16-11, the most wins since the 2003-04 season. Additionally, the Lady Railsplitters recorded it most conference wins (15) in program history.

Washington oversaw the development of Maranda Boddie, who is Lincoln Memorial’s all-time leader for blocks. She also coached All-American Dayshalee Salaman and multiple All-Conference selections during her tenure.

Prior to Lincoln Memorial, she was an assistant coach at Scottsdale Community College in Arizona for four seasons. She recruited several All-Conference players, including two that went on to play for Division I programs.

Washington began her collegiate playing career at Scottsdale Community College, earning All-Conference and All-Region honors during her sophomore season. She concluded her playing career at Armstrong Atlantic State and was part of the team that won the 2002-03 Peach Belt Conference Championship. Washington tallied 1,064 points in two years, including 641 during her senior campaign in 2003-04. Her 641 points still ranks third among Armstrong Atlantic State single-season leaders. She is the only player in school history to have over 100 assists and 100 steals in a single season, accomplishing that feat as a senior. A two-time All-Peach Belt selection, Washington had her jersey retired by Armstrong Atlantic State on Feb. 12, 2005.
Following her collegiate career, Washington went on to play professional basketball in Greece and The Netherlands.

Washington graduated from Armstrong Atlantic State with a degree in broadcast communications in 2004.
