Fitzpatrick was added to Head Coach Smoke Laval’s staff in the fall of 2014. His primary responsibilities will include work with the Osprey pitching staff as well as daily administrative duties. He will also assume the role of camp coordinator for the Smoke Laval Baseball Camps.
The Jacksonville native spent the 2013-14 season as the varsity pitching coach for his alma mater Bartram Trail High School in Jacksonville and as a pitching coach for Seminole State College Sanford. Fitzpatrick also spent time at the Upper Deck Baseball Academy as the lead pitching instructor where he also handled the scheduling of tournaments and clinics. He’s had previous coaching stints with Fleming Island High School in Orange Park and the Orlando Scorpions, one of the longest tenured and most well respected travel programs in the country.
Fitzpatrick played two years at Seminole State before transferring to Wingate University in 2010. The right-hander logged over 60 innings as a relief pitcher for Wingate. He appeared in 36 games, struck out 43 batters and compiled a record of 4-3 in two seasons for the Bulldogs.
In conjunction with his coaching duties, Fitzpatrick is finishing up his bachelor’s degree in Sport Management at North Florida.
