JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida Baseball closed out its regular season with a series sweep on Senior Day over West Georgia, 5-1, at Harmon Stadium on Saturday.

North Florida finished its regular season winning 12 of its 14 weekend series, including wins in all eight of its home series in 2026.

Junior infielder Mathew Farner led the way at the plate with a 2-4 outing, three RBI and one home run. It marked Farner's second home run in as many days and his team-high 12th homer this season.

Redshirt senior Tyler Gerteisen went 3-4 with one run. Senior utility player Finn Howell added a 1-3 outing. Redshirt junior utility player Boone Hosey went 1-2 with one run and one walk.

Redshirt sophomore right-handed pitcher Tyler Kozera and senior right handed pitcher Clay Hendry threw a combined 4.0 shutout innings and combined to allow just one hit with zero walks.

Farner opened the scoring in the bottom of the third inning with an RBI single to left field to give North Florida a 1-0 lead.

West Georgia tied the game with one run in the top of the fourth frame.

Senior catcher Santiago Ordonez notched an RBI sacrifice fly to right field in the bottom of both the fourth and sixth inning to put North Florida ahead, 3-1.

Farner belted a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning, allowing the score to reach its eventual final margin.
