- 2009 A-Sun All-Academic
As a junior, 2009: Played in and started in all 50 games of the Ospreys’ 2009 season … second on the team in hits (41) and tied for second in runs batted in (RBI) with 18 … led the team in the hit by pitch category with seven … had a seven game hitting streak through the month of February … after the month of February she raised her batting average to .355 … halfway through the season Rutenbar raised her batting average to .317 before finishing the season with a .272 batting average … playing outfield she was able to record a .962 fielding percentage … went 3-for-3 with two RBI’s, one homerun and one walk against Chattanooga … had four RBI’s against Georgia Southern in a day that she went 3-for-4 with a double … hit .429 (3-for-7) in UNF’s sweep over JU.
As a sophomore, 2008: Started all 63 games for the Lady Ospreys in center field, hitting .296 with four home runs and 43 RBIs … her .296 batting average was fourth on the team … finished fourth on the team with a .407 slugging percentage … opened the year with four hits and a run at Florida Atlantic’s tournament … had a team-high 10-game hitting streak from March 20-28, hitting .417 in that stretch with 15 hits, a double, a home run and six RBIs … had a four-hit game against Canisius during the hitting streak before capping it off with 2-for-3 performance that included a home run, three RBIs and two runs against East Tennessee State on March 28 … went 4-for-4 at the plate with four runs, two RBIs and a pair of doubles in the opening game of a doubleheader at Bethune-Cookman … put together another 4-for-4 day with a pair of runs and an RBI in the team’s final home game against Armstrong Atlantic State on April 16 … reached base safely in the team’s final eight games with base hits in the last three contests.
As a freshman, 2007: Made an appearance in 49 games with 45 starts on the season … hit .177 with a double, a triple and two home runs … went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs against North Dakota State at the Cougar Classic … had a pair of hits in the nightcap of a doubleheader at Florida … hit her first home run as an Osprey against second-ranked Arizona State, driving home both of UNF’s runs in the team’s second meeting with the Sun Devils … collected a pair of hits to go along with an RBI and a run at Stetson’s tournament … brought home a pair of runs with a base hit against Campbell in UNF’s first A-Sun win of the season on March 17 … drove in team’s opening run in the nightcap of a doubleheader at UAB with her only double of the season … finished the game 2-for-3 at the plate … finished out a road trip to Nashville with a pair of hits against Belmont … reached base in both games of the SunTrust River City Rumble doubleheader at JU, singling to right in the opening game before being hit by a pitch in the second game … had a pair of hits in the second game of a doubleheader against Gardner-Webb on April 13 … went 1-for-3 with a run scored in the nightcap of a doubleheader against ETSU … hit her second home run of the season in a doubleheader at Kennesaw State, giving UNF an all-time team high of 34 home runs in a season.
High School: 2006 honors graduate of Bartow High School, where she played for Glenn Rutenbar … was a first team All-America and a first team all-state selection as a senior as well as an all-area selection and the Polk County MVP … named a second team all-area selection as a sophomore and junior … hit .379 for her career with 81 RBIs, 25 doubles, 92 runs and 33 stolen bases … most productive year at the plate came during her senior season when she hit .500 and drove in 44 runs to go along with 10 doubles and a pair of home runs … hit .323 as a junior and .301 as a sophomore … helped lead her team to state championships all four years in high school … team only lost four games during her four years … was also an all-district soccer selection, leading the county in scoring as a senior.
Personal: Major is business management … born March 5, 1988, in Lakeland, Fla., her hometown … daughter of Glenn and Cheryl Rutenbar … older sister, Kelli, played softball for UNF (2004-07) … lists her favorite movie as “For Love of the Game” and enjoys watching the TV show “One Tree Hill.”
