
Men’s Basketball Announces Addition Of Assistant Coach Cabral Huff

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida Men's Basketball Head Coach Bobby Kennen announced the addition of Assistant Coach Cabral Huff on Wednesday.
"North Florida got better today with the addition of Coach Huff to our staff," Kennen said. "Cabral is one of the most well-liked and respected coaches in the country. He's a high character leader and mentor with a special skill set. Ultimately, Coach Huff is a teacher and a connector. He has a wide variety of experience in the high school, NAIA, Division II, Division I, in addition to the professional ranks. With the ever-changing landscape of college basketball, Coach Huff is well equipped to positively impact our program in a variety of ways daily. He's a perfect fit for our program."

Huff served as the Head Coach at Edward Waters from 2023-25, where he coached Prince Davies III and Myles Hosten to 2024-25 All-
SIAC selections. Myles Hosten was also named 2025 SIAC Freshman of the Year, the first in program history. Huff helped lead Edward Waters to its first ranking in the D2CSC South Region Media Poll in program history and tied the program's most wins since at least 2009-10 with 16 wins in 2024-25. He also spent time as an Assistant Coach at Newberry in 2026.
Prior to Edward Waters, Huff was the Head Coach and Athletic Booster Club Coordinator at NAIA Voorhees from 2020-23.
Under Huff's leadership, he led Voorhees to the CAC Championship and a berth in the NAIA National Tournament. Huff guided Voorhees to finish ninth in the Black College Sports Network (BCSN) NAIA Poll. Known as one of the best recruiters and player developers in the region, Huff recruited and developed three First Team All-Conference, two Second Team All-Conference, four All-Tournament Team and an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American selection at Voorhees.
Prior to Voorhees, Huff, an Atlanta, Ga. native, was the Head Coach at Holy Innocents' Episcopal School in 2019-20, where he coached the program to a GHSA Elite Eight appearance.
Before his role at Holy Innocents' Episcopal School, Huff was the Head Coach at Duluth High School from 2016-17. In his three seasons at Duluth, he coached the program to three-consecutive GHSA State Tournament appearances, including the school's first appearance in the Sweet 16 since 1985 with back-to-back berths. He compiled an overall record of 54-36 at Duluth, the most wins in a three-year span in school history.
Huff spent time in an Assistant Coach role at Alcorn State in 2015-16 and Georgia Southern in 2014-15. He helped lead the Braves to a 13-5 conference record and a second-place regular season finish in the SWAC, after he helped guide the Eagles to a 22-9 record, which remains the program's most wins since 1991-92, and a berth in the 2015 Sun Belt Tournament Final.
Huff was a successful coach at St. Francis High School for six seasons from 2008-14. He built a program from the ground up to a perennial powerhouse program in Georgia and the nation while recording five-straight appearances in the GHSA State Tournament. His team won the GHSA State Championship in 2013-14 after finishing State Championship Runner-up in 2012-13. He helped coached the program to a GHSA Final Four appearance in 2012-13 and 2013-14, Sweet 16 in 2009-10 and 2011-12, back-to-back Region Championships in 2012-13 and 2013-14, and Region Runner-up finishes in 2009-10 and 2010-11.
Among the many players he has mentored, Huff has coached 32 All Region players, 18 All-State Players, one McDonald's All-American, one Jordan Brand Classic Player, one USA 16U Player, two MaxPreps All-Americans, one Adidas National Player and over 30 players to play at the collegiate level. Huff has recruited and developed over 20 professional athletes, including five NBA players highlighted by Malik Beasley, Kobi Simmons, Kaiser Gates, James Banks and Adam Flagler.
Huff has previously been named 2014 Georgia Sports Writers Coach of the Year, 2014 XL212 Coach of the Year, 2013 and 2014 Region Coach of the Year, 2013 AJC Coach of the Year, 2013 North Fulton Neighbor Newspaper Coach of the Year and 2013 Lineage of Champions Coach of the Year.
Additionally, he has made an impact through his involvement in organizations that include EmbRACEus, Minority Coaches Association of Georgia, Naismith Tip-Off Club, Rising Coaches, among others.
Huff graduated with a Bachelor's degree in English from Morehouse College in 2000. He also holds a teacher certification in English for grades 6-12 from Mercer and earned a Master's degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia.
