No. 17 Beach Volleyball Defeats FGCU, Jacksonville To Close Out Capri Classic

BOCA RATON, Fla. – No. 17-ranked North Florida Beach Volleyball defeated a pair of ASUN Conference opponents to close out action at the Capri Classic at FAU Beach Volleyball Complex on Saturday.

North Florida defeated RV Florida Gulf Coast, 3-2, before it cruised past Jacksonville, 4-1. The one, three and five line went undefeated for North Florida on the day.

Down 2-0 to Florida Gulf Coast, freshman duo Samantha Crosby and Kamryn McDonald turned in a 21-16, 21-14 win at the five line. North Florida completed the comeback when the senior pair Andrea Da Silva Encinas and Madison Espy claimed the three line, 21-16, 2-1-17 before junior Cameron Humphries and senior Mackenzie Murphy clinched the match with a three-set win at the one line, 21-18, 20-22, 15-12.

North Florida earned its 30th-straight win against crosstown rival Jacksonville with wins at four of the five lines.

North Florida heads to Stetson's The DeLand Cup on Friday and Saturday, April 17-18, at Cooper Beach Volleyball Complex in DeLand, Fla.
