No. 17 Beach Volleyball Splits Matches To Open Capri Classic

BOCA RATON, Fla. – No. 17-ranked North Florida Beach Volleyball split a pair of matches at the Capri Classic at FAU Beach Volleyball Complex on Friday.

North Florida swept Stephen F. Austin, 5-0, to open action, and then fell to host No. 15 Florida Atlantic, 3-2.

Junior Cameron Humphries and senior Mackenzie Murphy swept its matches on the day.

North Florida earned straight-set wins at all five flights against Stephen. F. Austin. Humphries and Murphy posted a 21-11, 21-18 win at the one line. Senior Presley Murray and redshirt junior Sophia Notaro added a 21-11, 21-9 win at the two line. Senior pair Andrea Da Silva Encinas and Madison Espy recorded a 21-12, 21-8 win at the three line.

Junior Eden Anderson and freshman Ally Bunch notched a 21-5, 21-9 win at the four line, while freshman duo Kamryn McDonald and Samantha Crosby turned in a 21-8, 21-16 at the five line.

Anderson and Bunch added a win at the four line, 21-15, 21-15, at Florida Atlantic. Humphries and Murphy earned a three-set win against, 13-21, 21-18, 15-11, at the one line.

North Florida battles RV Florida Gulf Coast at 10 a.m. and Jacksonville at 2 p.m. ET at the Capri Classic on Saturday.
