No. 17 Beach Volleyball Opens DUUUVAL Duals With A Pair of Victories

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – No. 17-ranked North Florida Beach Volleyball added a pair of wins on the first day of the DUUUVAL Duals at The Cooper Beach Volleyball Complex on Friday.

North Florida defeated Mercer due to forfeit, 3-0, and then handled FIU, 4-1.

North Florida secured the match win against FIU with wins at the two through five lines. Freshman pair Kamryn McDonald and Samantha Crosby secured a three-set win, 17-21, 21-13, 15-12, at the four line, while sophomore Natalie Villalon and freshman Ally Bunch added a 26-24, 21-17 win at the five line.

Senior Andrea Da Silva Encinas and senior Madison Espy recorded a 21-11, 21-10 win at three line. Senior Presley Muray and redshirt junior Sophia Notaro posted a 21-14, 23-21 win at the two line to reach the eventual final margin.

North Florida closes out the DUUUVAL Duals with a pair of matches against Eastern Kentucky at 12 p.m. and Jacksonville at 4 p.m. ET.
