Baseball Evens Series At Stetson With Dominant Run-Rule Win, 12-1

DELAND, FLA. - North Florida Baseball evened its road series at Stetson with a dominant run-rule win, 12-1, at Conrad Park on Saturday.

North Florida's offense got off to a hot start in the top of the first inning. Redshirt junior utility player Jackson Toberman plated junior infielder Mitchell Collins with a sacrifice fly for UNF's first run of the game. Redshirt junior utility player Boone Hosey drove an RBI single up the middle to extend North Florida's lead to 2-0.

Stetson responded with its only run in the bottom of the first frame.

North Florida broke the game open in the top of the second with three home runs and six runs in the inning. Redshirt sophomore outfielder Carter White got the scoring started with a three-run home run, allowing North Florida to command a 5-1 advantage.

Junior infielder Mathew Farner and Toberman delivered back-to-back home runs later in the second inning to put the Ospreys ahead 8-1. It marked Toberman's second home run of the season and Farner's seventh.

White belted his second home run of the game in the top of the third inning. His second homer gave North Florida a 10-1 advantage. White notched his third home run and seventh RBI of the game in the top of the seventh frame to help secure the run-rule win. He now has five home runs this season.

Sophomore right-handed pitcher Trevor Nikolis dealt seven innings and allowed just four hits and one earned run while posting six strikeouts en route to the win.
