
No. 16 Beach Volleyball Splits Pair Of Matches To Close Seminole Beach Bash

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – No. 16-ranked North Florida Beach Volleyball split a pair of matches on the final day of the Seminole Beach Bash at the Florida State Beach Volleyball Courts on Saturday.
North Florida fell to No. 14-ranked Florida Atlantic, 4-1, before it responded to defeat RV South Florida, 3-2.
The pair of senior Madison Espy and sophomore Natalie Villalon swept its matches on Saturday and has now posted three-straight wins.Â
In the match against South Florida, junior Cameron Humphries and senior Mackenzie Murphy took the one line, while senior Presley Murray and redshirt junior Sophia Notaro added a win at the two line. Both of the top two lines marked new pairs. Espy and Villalon added a win on the four line to clinch the match.Â
Florida Atlantic secured the final score with wins at the one, two, three and five line. Espy and Villalon responded to a first-set loss to take the next two sets and earn a win on the four line. Four of the five matches went to a third set. Freshman pair Samantha Crosby and Kamryn McDonald forced a third set on the three line with a second-set win.Â
North Florida returns to the sand to host the DUUUVAL Duals at The Cooper Beach Volleyball Complex on March 6-7.
