Baseball Notches Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win To Secure Series Over Presbyterian

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. - North Florida Baseball notched its third-consecutive series win, defeating Presbyterian, 12-11, in 10 innings at Harmon Stadium on Saturday.
The win for North Florida marked its second walk-off victory this season.
The Ospreys wasted little time grabbing an early lead with a three-run first inning. Redshirt junior utility player Boone Hosey drove a two-RBI triple to right center followed by an RBI-single by redshirt sophomore outfielder Sean Benjamin.
Presbyterian tied the score with a three-run top of the third frame.
Hosey responded in the bottom-half of the third with his second home run of the season – a two-run homer to put North Florida ahead, 5-3. The Blue Hose plated a run in the top of the fourth inning to bring it within one, then tied the game at five in the fifth.
North Florida tallied six runs in the seventh frame, largely behind a bases-loaded double down the right-field line by freshman catcher Beau Rurey to help UNF command a 9-5 advantage. Redshirt senior outfielder Tyler Gerteisen followed with a two-run home run to extend North Florida's lead to 11-5.
Presbyterian scored six unanswered runs over the final two innings. However, in the bottom of the tenth, sophomore utility player Ty Velardo drove a hard-hit ball to first with a runner on third to plate the game-winning run for North Florida.
