Baseball Earns Sweep Over Presbyterian In Run-Rule Fashion, 12-2

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. - North Florida Baseball secured its first sweep of the season with a dominant run-rule win in the series finale against Presbyterian, 12-2, in seven innings at Harmon Stadium on Sunday.
North Florida's high-powered offense opened the game with a six-run first frame.
Redshirt junior utility player Jackson Toberman got the scoring started for UNF with an RBI-single to left to score sophomore utility player Seth Alford from second.
Junior utility player Boone Hosey extended North Florida's lead to 3-0 in the first, finding the gap in right to plate a pair. Hosey has posted six RBI over the last two games.Â
Redshirt sophomore outfielder Carter White kept the line moving for UNF in the first, tallying North Florida's fifth hit in the inning with a double to right field. White's double allowed the Ospreys to command a 4-0 advantage.
Freshman infielder Ryan Buchanan capped off UNF's six-run first with a two-RBI base knock up the middle.
Redshirt junior left-handed pitcher dealt back-to-back scoreless frames in the first and second.
Toberman drove in yet another run in the bottom of the second with a double that hit off the center-field wall to put UNF ahead 7-0.
Presbyterian answered with its first run of the game in the top of the third.
Redshirt junior right-handed pitcher Will Ross made his first appearance of the season in the top of the fourth. Ross dealt 3.1 innings and allowed just one run en route to his first win of the season.
North Florida added an insurance run in the fifth via a sacrifice fly from White to extend its lead to 8-2.Â
Junior outfielder Gialdri Gomez roped an RBI-double to right in the bottom of the seventh, allowing North Florida to command a 9-2 lead. Buchanan capped off UNF's four-run seventh and clinched the run-rule win with a two-RBI double to left-center field.
