
No. 17 Beach Volleyball Cruises Past FGCU, Jacksonville At Dolphin Duals

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – No. 17-ranked North Florida Beach Volleyball defeated a pair of fellow ASUN opponents to close out action at the Dolphins Duals at Jacksonville's Payne Sand Volleyball Courts at Dolphin Beach on Saturday.Â

North Florida defeated RV Florida Gulf Coast, 3-2, to open the second day of play, before it swept crosstown rival and host Jacksonville, 5-0. The latest win marks the eighth-straight sweep against Jacksonville.Â

Against Florida Gulf Coast, senior pair Presley Murray and Mackenzie Murphy clinched the match point with a three-set win at the one line, 15-21, 21-16, 15-9. Junior Cameron Humphries and redshirt junior Sophia Notaro posted a 21-15, 16-21, 15-8 win at two and sophomore Natalie Villalon and freshman Ally Bunch recorded a two-set win, 21-17, 21-14, at the five line to propel North Florida to the final margin.Â

In the later match against Jacksonville, North Florida earned its first sweep of the season with two-set wins on all five lines. Humphries and Notaro slotted into the one line for the first time this season and secured a 21-17, 21-16 win. Murray and Murphy added a 21-17, 21-14 win on the two line. Freshman Kamryn McDonald partnered with fellow freshman Samantha Crosby for a 21-13, 21-17 win at the three line. The win marked the first of McDonald's career.Â

Senior Madison Espy and junior Eden Anderson posted a 21-13, 21-19 win at the four line, while Villalon and Bunch turned in a 21-11, 21-15 win at five.Â
