Baseball Tallies 16 Hits To Dominate Sacred Heart, 16-3

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida Baseball dominated at the plate and on the mound to earn its first win of the season, defeating Sacred Heart, 16-3, in Game 2 at Harmon Stadium on Saturday evening.
Sacred Heart jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third inning, but North Florida responded with 16 unanswered runs in its final six at bats to earn the win. Eight of UNF's 16 runs came in the third inning alone.
Redshirt junior utility player Jackson Toberman got the scoring started for the Ospreys with an RBI single up the middle. Sophomore infielder Sean Benjamin and junior infielder Mitchell Collins capped off North Florida's big third inning with an RBI double down the right-field line and an RBI single to center to put the Ospreys ahead, 8-3.
Sophomore infielder Seth Alford and junior infielder Mathew Farner extended North Florida's edge to 10-3 in the fifth with a pair of RBI doubles.
North Florida commanded an 12-3 edge in the seventh following back-to-back home runs from Alford and Farner. Alford's was an inside the park home run and Farner's was a solo shot to left-center. It marked Farner's first home run as an Osprey.
Redshirt junior utility player Jackson Schrafft tallied North Florida's third home run in the seventh inning alone, clearing the bases with a grand slam to make it 16-3 before the score reached its eventual final. It marked Schrafft's first home run as an Osprey.
