JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida softball took home a pair of victories against Iona after scoring go-ahead runs in both games during the sixth inning at the UNF-JU Invitational on Friday evening at UNF Softball Complex.

The Ospreys were scoreless with Iona in the first doubleheader game heading to bat in the sixth before Bella Cimino and Caiden Oliva delivered the runs to secure the 3-0 win. UNF was down a run in the second game before Hallie Langford tied the game in the fifth, followed with Ayden Allen and Hannah Davila taking the lead in the sixth.

Cameron Ponich was lights out once again spinning a complete game with nine strikeouts and only one hit allowed, as she was two outs away from the program's third perfect game in D-I history. She picked up her second win to improve her season stat line to 11.2 innings pitched with 11 strikeouts, two hits and no runs allowed.

Macie Hunolt continued to dominate in her third start of the year with another outing of no earned runs allowed. She joins Ponich as the only Ospreys with a perfect 0.00 ERA through eight games with at least 11 innings pitched.
