STATESBORO, Ga. - North Florida women's swimming picked up three individual wins and a relay victory against Georgia Southern on Saturday afternoon.
The Ospreys tallied a total of 22 top-three placements over 14 events, but ended up dropping its dual competition to the Eagles, 180-114. It was the second dual meet of the week for the Ospreys, as well as their second meet back from the break to start the winter slate.
This will be their first of two road meets against conference foes before prepping for the ASUN Championship meet in February.
It's the third time facing off against Georgia Southern this season after picking up a pair of wins against them during the fall. UNF defeated both Georgia Southern (1,476-925.50)Â and Howard (1,476-970.5)Â during a tri-meet from Oct. 10-11, along with a dual meet home victory against the Eagles on Senior Day, 173.50-88.50.
Kendall Butler (50 free), Victoria Torres (100 free) and Paige Munna (500 free) all earned victories in their respective freestyle events. Torres joined the 200 free relay team of Brooke Bourne, Riley McCormick and Abby Noga for a top finish to close out the meet.
Butler recorded 24.68 in the 50 freestyle for her win, while Torres notched a first-place finish in the following race in the 100 freestyle at 52.95. Munna led the top-three Osprey grouping of Grace Burton and Annalia Jansons with a mark of 5:13.58 in the 500 freestyle.

"It was an up-and-down meet for us. We got things together after a few events and finished strong. Our athletes are training hard. They are tired and fighting. We swam a good Georgia Southern team, who we will see again in a month at the ASUN Championships. We'll keep training hard and working towards our goals. Kendall [Butler] had a good win in the 50 freestyle. Victoria [Torres] had a really good swim for first in the 100 freestyle. Our distance group placed 1-2-3 in the 500 freestyle and we finished the meet with a win in the 200 freestyle relay."Â
