JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida women's cross country placed four runners in the top 25 to earn a fifth-place team finish at the Florida Intercollegiate XC Invitational on Friday evening.
North Florida finished ahead of ASUN opponents Stetson and Jacksonville, as well as in-state USF within the 14-team field.
Senior
Ana Markovina led all Ospreys with a time of 18:01.0 minutes to round out the top 10. Sophomore
Melissa Bentayeb crossed next with a time of 18:19.2 minutes for a 15th-place finish. Each earned a top-15 time among the 107 runners in the women's 5k meet.
Sophomore
Cohen Kooker clocked a time of 18:43.0 minutes to finish 24th, while senior
Ella Chandler added a time of 18:45.8 minutes to put four Ospreys inside the top 25.
Sophomore
Brooke Yates posted a time of 18:51.5 minutes to place 28th overall. Senior
Jada Williams earned a time of 18:57.6 to finish 30th and senior
Laci Watford rounded out the scorers for North Florida with a time of 19:00.4 to come in 31st.
North Florida makes the trip to Tallahassee to compete in the Seminole Invite on Sept. 26 at Apalachee Regional Park
