LAGUNA BEACH, Calif. – No. 16 North Florida beach volleyball fell to reigning National Champion No. 7 USC, 5-0, at the Best of the West on Saturday in Laguna Beach, Calif.

Junior Madison Espy and senior Mariana Feliciano Sanchez claimed the first set at the two line, 21-16, before the tandem fell in an eventual three-set battle.

The inital wave battled with first sets decided by four points or less at each position. Senior Emily Guenter and sophomore Anne Marie Hardouin led 14-13 in the second set at the five line before the Trojans secured the win.

North Florida is back in action when it battles No. 11 Long Beach State at 1 p.m. and No. 17 Hawaii at 4 p.m. on Sunday in Laguna Beach, Calif.
