
Beach Volleyball Faces Five Ranked Opponents at Laguna Beach Best In The West

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – No. 16 North Florida beach volleyball heads out west to compete in the Laguna Beach Best in the West, where it will battle five top-20 opponents on Friday-Sunday, April 4-6, in Laguna Beach, Calif.

North Florida has started its season 17-1, the best start in program history, with 12 dual sweeps. North Florida is 1-1 against ranked opponents this season and earned its highest ranked win in program history when it swept No. 14 FIU on March 8.Â

North Florida faces a pair of top-five opponents when it takes on No. 3 Loyola Marymount at 2 p.m. and No. 4 Stanford at 6 p.m on Friday. North Florida then battles No. 7 USC, who has won the last four National Championships, at 6 p.m on Saturday. North Florida closes out action when it faces No. 11 Long Beach State at 1 p.m. and No. 17 Hawaii at 4 p.m. on Sunday.Â

The Atlantic Sun Conference announced Wednesday that the tandem of junior Madison Espy and senior Mariana Feliciano Sanchez were named ASUN Pair of the Week.

It is the second conference nod for North Florida this season after the junior pair of Presley Murray and Mackenzie Murphy secured the same honor on March 5.Â

Espy and Feliciano Sanchez produced four wins without dropping a set at the two line at the ASUN Midseason Tournament on March 28-29. The tandem is now an undefeated 12-0 on the season. Feliciano Sanchez recorded the 75th win of her career – one of four players in program history to eclipse the mark.Â

North Florida stayed put at No. 16 in the 2025 AVCA Collegiate Beach Coaches Top 20 Week Six Poll on Tuesday, one spot from its program-record No. 15 ranking earned in the Week Four edition.Â
