DeLAND, Fla. - North Florida softball ambushed Stetson in the late innings, 9-1, to put together another run-rule victory to finish off the road sweep on Sunday afternoon.
The Ospreys saw themselves in an early 1-0 deficit after two innings. An RBI single from
Lauren Brock, followed by a two-run home run from
Allison Benning, put UNF up top in the third.
Brock executed another RBI single in the fourth inning, along with a throwing error to score Brock later in the inning.
Grace Shaw-Rockey put the cherry on top with a grand slam for her first career homer to put the competition in run-rule territory up by eight in the fourth.
Benning was not only great from the plate, but also performed exceptionally well in the circle with another three-inning start with a pair of strikeouts. Hunolt closed out the final two innings with another couple of strikeouts and no runs allowed to start conference play undefeated.
