No. 16 Beach Volleyball Secures Midweek Sweeps Over Wingate and Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – No. 16-ranked North Florida beach volleyball added to its dominant start with a pair of sweeps over Wingate and Jacksonville at The Cooper Beach Volleyball Complex on Wednesday.

North Florida improves to 13-1 overall and 6-0 at The Cooper Beach Volleyball Complex this season. The Ospreys have posted sweeps in five of its six home duals.

North Florida made quick work of Wingate with straight-set wins on each court. Sophomore Cameron Humphries and senior Hayden Wooldridge earned a 21-10, 21-7 win in the four spot, while senior Emily Guenter and sophomore Anne Marie Hardouin dominated 21-3, 21-6 at five. Senior pair Andrea Da Silva and Taylor Pierce secured the three line, 21-8, 21-11. Junior Madison Espy and senior Mariana Feliciano Sanchez added a 21-5, 21-11 win at two. The top tandem of junior Presley Murray and junior Mackenzie Murphy tacked on a 21-9, 21-10 win to clinch the sweep.

North Florida added its nine sweep of the schedule and third over Jacksonville to close out the midweek action.

Humphries and Wooldridge stayed hot with their ninth-straight win, 21-14, 22-20, in the four spot, while sophomore Eden Anderson and redshirt sophomore Sophia Notaro handled five, 21-15, 21-9. Murray and Murphy clinched a 21-18, 21-13 win at the one line, while Feliciano Sanchez and Espy added a 21-11, 21-9 win on two. Da Silva and Pierce answered back to a first-set loss to take the three slot, 19-21, 21-17, 15-9, and secure the sweep.

North Florida will be back in action when it hosts the ASUN Midseason Tournament at The Cooper Beach Volleyball Complex on Friday and Saturday, March 28-29.
