JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's basketball took down Jacksonville in the River City Rumble during senior day, 69-61, on Saturday afternoon at UNF Arena.
The Ospreys came back from an 11-point deficit in the second half, outscoring the Dolphins, 23-9 in the fourth quarter, to pull out its first win of conference play. UNF ended the season with four players scoring in double figures, including
Jazmine Spencer dropping 20 points after being honored pregame during senior day festivities.
UNF won its first River City Rumble game under the
Erika Lambert era breaking a three-game losing streak in the series.
Jasmynne Gibson,
Kaila Rougier and
Sarah Taub all combined for 36 points as well to help lead UNF to an eight-point victory.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
FIRST HALF: Spencer got the senior day show going with a layup for the first points of the game...Gibson and Rougier followed with scores of their own to take an early four-point lead...Gibson and Eklund combined for the next eight points, followed with a buzzer-beater from Rougier to take a 19-15 lead after one...Spencer and Gibson went back and forth with scores in the paint to keep within one-possession of JU...Taub made a mid-range jumper plus back-to-back threes from
Jamisyn Stinson to finish out the half down by two.
SECOND HALF: Out of the break, Rougier immediately tied the game at 36-36...after a short scoring drought down by 11 points, Rafnsdottir earned her first score to cut into the deficit...Rougier and Spencer stepped up as seniors to make it a six-point game after three...Spencer and Taub kept it a five-point game with clutch scores to start the fourth...Taub and Gibson continued to score the next 11 points to tie the game with five minutes remaining at 56-56...Spencer took over in the final two minutes of the game with three and a and-one bucket to secure the first conference win of the season for the Ospreys.
