
Beach Volleyball Stays Undefeated To Close DUUUVAL Duals

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – No. 19-ranked North Florida beach volleyball swept Chattanooga and Jacksonville on Saturday to close out an unbeaten DUUUVAL Duals at The Cooper Beach Volleyball Complex.Â

The 8-0 start is the best in program history and marks the first time that North Florida has opened its season perfect through a pair of weekends. The Ospreys have recorded sweeps in three-straight duals and four of the last five.Â

North Florida swept both Chattanooga and Jacksonville with straight-set wins at four of the five lines.Â

Redshirt sophomore Sophia Notaro and senior Emily Guenter picked up a 26-24, 21-16 win at five to secure the initial point from Chattanooga. The dual was clinched when sophomore Cameron Humphries and senior Hayden Wooldridge responded to a first-set loss to take the four spot 18-21, 21-7, 15-10 and junior Madison Espy and sophomore Eden Anderson racked up a 21-13, 21-12 win at the third position.

Senior tandem Taylor Pierce and Andrea Da Silva handled business 21-18, 21-14 at two right before junior tandem Presley Murray and Mackenzie Murphy added a 21-13, 21-14 win at the top line for the sweep.Â

In the dual with crosstown rival Jacksonville, Notaro and Guenter posted a dominant 21-8, 21-17 win at five and Humphries and Wooldridge claimed the four spot 18-21, 21-10, 17-15. Espy and Anderson secured the match at three, 21-16, 21-13. Pierce and Da Silva took care of the two line, 21-15, 21-16, while Murray and Murphy picked up a 21-11, 21-13 win at the top position. Â
