ORLANDO, Fla. - North Florida softball split its first pair of games played at the Charge On Classic hosted by UCF on Friday evening.

The Ospreys picked up a run-rule shutout victory in six innings played against Georgia Southern jumping to an 8-0 margin. They later came back and lost steam in a defeat to Providence on the back half of their doubleheader day.

Allison Benning powered UNF through its first win against the Eagles with six scoreless innings and five strikeouts in the circle for her sixth win of the season. Mackenzie Woods added a three-run bomb for her second home run of the season to push the Ospreys to the eight-run victory.

NOTES

Four players (Brock, Benning, Caravaca & Woods) had multi-hit performances in loss to Providence.
Caravaca added a second multi-hit game with her 2-for-3 performance against Georgia Southern.
Woods smashed her second home run of the season, as well as the second of her career.
The redshirt senior joins Benning as the only Ospreys thus far with multiple home runs this season.
Benning spun six scoreless with five strikeouts to pick up her sixth win in the circle.
