Ospreys Tally Five First-Place Finishes on Saturday
FORT MYERS, Fla. - North Florida women's swimming recorded three top-ten program times and a total of six first-place finishes, but it wasn't enough as the Ospreys fell in a closely contested dual meet at FGCU to conclude the regular season.Â
Sophomores Kayla Daley and Ashley Kirby led the way, with both swimmers earning two first-place finishes apiece. Daley secured a top-ten program time in the 100-yard butterfly with her time of 55.41, while Kirby swam the sixth fastest 100-yard breaststroke in program history, finishing in 1:03.61.Â
Junior Ellie Hixenbaugh almost broke a school record, swimming the second fastest 200–yard breaststroke in program history and finishing in first place.Â
All told, the Ospreys tallied 50 top-five finishes between individual and group races over the course of the two-day meet.Â
