JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida Baseball is excited to announce its groundbreaking transformation amid Phase I of its comprehensive facility improvement plan of Harmon Stadium. Phase I marks a major step forward in elevating the game day experience for players, fans and the Osprey community.
Â
"This project represents a significant investment in our student-athletes and fans," Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Nick Morrow said. "We're creating a first-class environment that reflects the pride and passion of Osprey Baseball. These enhancements will elevate the experience for everyone who steps into our ballpark and give it a minor league feel."
Â
Phase I of the renovations include several significant upgrades designed to enhance both performance and fan engagement. The transformation includes a brand new AstroTurf field featuring a state-of-the-art playing surface for improved durability and performance. A padded outfield wall will be added to increase safety and add a professional look to the ballpark. Families will have access to the Family Fun Zone located in the third-base corner, creating a welcoming space for families to enjoy the game. The bullpens will be relocated behind the field for better functionality.
The transformation of Harmon Stadium also includes the completion of the Premium PIT Seating section that features 40 seats, in addition to a drink rail and 10 PIT tables – four seats each – positioned in front of the NEST down the first-base line for on field viewing. Additional viewing sections for fans include the Party Deck - providing a vibrant social space to the left of the visiting dugout near third base for group gatherings and celebrations. Students will also have a new look to their seating options with a Student Truck Outfield Viewing section behind center field.
"Our players are thrilled about these upgrades," North Florida Baseball Head Coach Joe Mercadante said. "The new turf and improved facilities will help us train and compete at the highest level, while the fan-focused additions will make every game an unforgettable experience. This is a big step forward for our program."
Â
Call to Action: Naming Right opportunities and Premium PIT seating options are still available. For more information on supporting UNF Baseball and securing your spot in these exciting upgrades, please contact the North Florida Athletics Development staff and Derek Marinatos at derek.marinatos@unf.edu or Matt Lisiewski at matthew.lisiewski@unf.edu or visit UNFOspreys.com.
