
Women's Basketball Falls at Georgia

ATHENS, Ga. - North Florida women's basketball fell in their finale of their three-game road trip to Georgia, 92-46, on Thursday evening.
Elle Blatchford led the team with 10 points, as 10 different Osprey players notched points in the Power Four competition. Dezuray McGill picked up her first start as a true freshman on her way to recording seven points with a pair of boards.
Jamisyn Stinson earned the first points for UNF with a jumper just outside the paint, followed with a pair of buckets from Alexa Washington. Nicole Carreno drained a three-pointer to jump-start a 9-2 run towards the end of the first quarter.
Washington added two more points on a fast break recording the steal-and-score basketball to cut into the Bulldogs' lead. Blatchford and McGill added on two more three-point makes to start the second half.
Jamison Cardwell added on to UNF's score with a shot from downtown. An 8-0 run in the fourth quarter, followed with five straight points from Blatchford in the final minute, were finishing touches to the non-conference road defeat for the Ospreys.
North Florida returns home to host its second-annual Osprey Thanksgiving Classic from Nov. 28-29 against Bethune-Cookman and Campbell. Both games are set for a 1:30 p.m., tip-off time at UNF Arena.
