
Men's Golf Bring In Three Freshman to 2026 Signing Class

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida men's golf officially makes its first three additions to the 2026 signing class, as announced by Director of Golf Scott Schroeder on Thursday afternoon.
Danny Wehle, Luke Gossett and Easton Oliva all put pen to paper this week to become the first trio of freshman newcomers joining the program for the 2026-27 season. Gossett and Oliva stick to their roots in the Sunshine State, including Oliva staying home from Ponta Vedra Beach, Fla., while Wehle joins the Ospreys from New York.
Hometown: Rochester, N.Y.
Class: Freshman
High School: McQuaid Jesuit HS
Height: 5-10
Prior to UNF: Currently ranked No. 2 in New York, No. 214 in the US and No. 239 globally in The Universal Golf Rankings...has played in 43 total tournament rounds towards ranking with a win rate of 59.2% against 448 competitors...was one of seven NYS Juniors to compete at the 2025 Junior PGA Championship in Indiana...also played in the 2025 U.S. Junior Amateur qualifying tournament...finished third in the 2024 NYS Boys' 18U Junior Amateur.
Personal: Born on Nov. 11, 2007...son of Jason and Nicole Wehle...has one brother, Bode...nickname is "Wheels"...plans to major in business...chose UNF "to play for Coach [Scott] Schroeder and I feel UNF is the best fit for me to grow as a player and a person."
Coach's Thoughts: "Danny [Wehle] was late addition to this class that we are really excited to see what he can do. He has played a bunch of hockey and has been improving quickly. He is another guy who wants to play professionally, so it will be fun to help him chase that goal."

Prior to UNF: Placed as the 2024 Class 1A Individual State Champion in the FHSAA tournament...followed up in 2025 as the Class 1A FHSAA State Championship third-place individual at 4-under (140)...was named Team MVP in 2025...was a two-time Orlando Sentinel All-Area Team and a two-time Class 1A District champion in 2022 and 2024...top performance was a low score of 64 placing third at AJGA Innisbrook and a 63 score on his way to first at OGATOUR...set course record at school home course of Ventura Country Club (61)...also awarded 2024 Congressional Award Bronze Medal and will receive Circle Christian School STEM Honors Diploma...ranked No. 68 in AJGA with two top-10 finishes and four top-20 finishes in 2025.
Personal: Born on April 5, 2008...son of Wade and Dawn Gossett...has one brother, Drake...father, Wade, was Luke's high school coach from 2022-25...holds a 4.0 GPA at Circle Christian School...chose UNF because "I really liked Coach [Scott] Schroeder, the team and UNF's unique campus."

Personal: Son of Chad and Tiffany Oliva...has one sibling, Caiden, who plays softball for UNF...father, Chad, played baseball at Jacksonville before going to the MLB with the Philadelphia Phillies...born on Dec. 6, 2007...plans to major in business...chose UNF because "they saw potential in my ability to be an elite level golfer."
Coach's Thoughts: "Easton [Oliva] is another really talented PV high school kid coming to UNF. He is a former baseball player committed to golf that is getting better every day. It will be really fun to see how much he improves when we can see him around some hard-working players on a daily basis."
