Ospreys Tally Victories Against UAB, New Orleans
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida beach volleyball (13-7) enjoyed a successful start to the North Florida Invite, tallying two 4-1 victories over UAB (11-7) and New Orleans (10-13). The Ospreys jumped out to early leads and ran away with them thanks to solid performances from Cameron Humphries/Hayden Wooldridge and Iris Fletcher/Katie Camp in the four and five slots. Â
UNF won its seventh match in a row against UAB, improving to 8-1 all-time against the Blazers. The Ospreys took down New Orleans for the second time this season and remain undefeated against the Privateers, with a 5-0 record all-time.Â
Humphries and Wooldridge got the Ospreys ahead early, only allowing 11 points in both sets, followed by Fletcher and Camp who dispatched their opponents in two sets. Presley Murray and Madison Espy clinched the winning match point for the Ospreys on court two. Mariana Feliciano Sanchez and Mackenzie Murphy tacked on a fourth point in their matchup on court three. Michaela Rezentes and Taylor Pierce took their match to three sets, but ultimately fell, giving UNF the 4-1 victory.Â
