Torres Records Two Top-10 Program Times

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Despite posting two top-10 program times, North Florida women's swimming ultimately fell to FGCU in the final dual meet of the competition season on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Victoria Torres recorded the seventh fastest 50- and 100-yard freestyle times in program history following Aydan Horrigan who swam the sixth fastest 400-yard individual medley the day prior.

CLIPBOARD NOTES

Torres swam the seventh fastest 50-yard freestyle in program history with a time of 23.86.
Torres also recorded the seventh fastest 100-yard freestyle in program history, touching the wall in 51.81.
Freshman Ashley Kirby took first-place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:04.55, a personal best.
Paige Munna recorded a personal best in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing in 5:06.54, good for second.
Ashley Cozad posted a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 1:53.28.
The group of Sara Maschmeier, Amanda Loomis, Riley McCormick and Kirby kicked off day two with a second place finish in the 400-yard medley relay with a combined time of 3:51.25.

"This weekend was full of fast swimming. We put up three top-ten times in program history and a few that just missed. The team really went after it against a very good FGCU team. Along with the top-ten times, we had many personal bests. After this meet, it shows me we will be ready for peak performance at the ASUN Championships." -- head coach Ian Coffey
