Swimming Takes On Atlantic Sun Championships

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's swimming is set to compete in the 2024 Atlantic Sun Swimming and Diving Championships in Knoxville, Tenn. February 21-24. This was the first competition season in the Atlantic Sun Conference for the Ospreys after previously competing as members of the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA).

The field will consist of Bellarmine, Queens (N.C.), Gardner-Webb, FGCU, Liberty and UNC Asheville. Preliminaries will begin at 10 a.m. each day with the finals getting underway at 6 p.m followed by an awards presentation after each session.

Each session will be streamed on ESPN+ and live results will be available via the MeetMobile app and the Atlantic Sun website.

FROM THE STARTING BLOCK

The Ospreys set four school records at last years CCSA Championships
This will be the third meeting between UNF and FGCU this competition season
The 800-yard freestyle will be swam for just the second time this season.
UNF recorded three top-ten program times in its last meet at FGCU
The top 16 swimmers from each event will qualify for the evening finals
The ASUN Championships will follow the NCAA Championship Meet four-day format

"We have trained all year for the ASUN Conference Championships. This is where all the hard work pays off. The team has really put in the work and now it's time to rest for peak performance. Everyone is looking forward to swimming fast. It's going to be a special week with this being the first ASUN Swimming and Diving Championship. It will be a tough four days of two sessions everyday, but we are going to be ready for the challenge. With the top-16 coming back at night, we have to get as many swimmers into the finals by swimming our fastest in the morning sessions." – Head Coach Ian Coffey
