Second Start for Benning as Two-Way Player

MIAMI, Fla. - North Florida softball could not hold on to its lead in an all-round defensive game, as they faltered to FIU (3-4), 2-1, on the road Wednesday evening.

The Ospreys took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning, courtesy of an RBI from Shannon Glover to score Madisyn Federico from third on a groundout. FIU responded with a two-run home run in the fourth inning and kept the one-run lead until the end.

It was second start and fourth appearance for Allison Benning as a both a pitcher and a designed player/batter.
Benning also recorded her second game this season pitching at least five innings, while recording at least six strikeouts and holding teams to two earned runs or less.
Glover had the lone RBI of the day to give her all three RBIs on the midweek road trip.
Logan Jackson recorded both hits for the Ospreys on Wednesday against the Panthers.
She continues her hitting streak of six consecutive games to start the 2024 season, as well as her first multi-hit game.
