Women's Golf Starts Eighth at Badger Invitational

Pair of Ospreys Make Debut With Team

VERONA, Wis. - North Florida women's golf played its first round of the 2023 season debuting in eighth through the first day of the Badger Invitational hosted by Wisconsin Sunday afternoon.

The Ospreys had new faces on the course with One Kashima making her collegiate debut as a true freshman, while Casilda Allendesalazar made her UNF debut after transferring in from Central Michigan as a junior. Christin Eisenbeiss leads the pack with a 1-over 73 for 11th overall, along with Jessie Cai joining Kashima in the top 20 as well. UNF finished the day ahead of teams such as Indiana, Rutgers and ETSU.

ROUND REFLECTIONS

  • Eisenbeiss ended her day with 11-consecutive pars to notch a solid opening round at 1-over 73 to be tied for 11th overall.
  • She also leads the field in pars with 15 total through 18 holes during Sunday's opening round.
  • Cai shot back-to-back birdies on the 17th and 18th holes to score 2-over 74 and place among the top 20 individuals.
  • Kashima made her collegiate debut with a 2-over 74 with the Ospreys, which included her shooting par on 13 of her final 15 holes to join Cai and Eisenbeiss in the top 20.
  • Allendesalazar made her UNF debut at 6-over 78, followed by Kaitlynn Washburn's round of 7-over 79 to cap off the opening round.
  • Wyndom Burnett also played as an unattached individual with a score of 6-over 78 on the first day of play.
  • The Ospreys are only one of four teams after the first day to have three players among the top 20 on the player's leaderboard.
  • UNF ends the first round with 56 pars and nine birdies, while also being top five in average par-five score at even-par.


UP NEXT

North Florida continues playing in its season opener with round two of the Badger Invitational starting Monday, Sept. 18, with the Ospreys' teeing off at 9 a.m., with UTSA and New Mexico State.
