TOURNAMENT NOTEBOOK
- The Ospreys will be playing in the Badger Invitational for a second consecutive season, as well as their second time at Wisconsin in program history.
- UNF finished tied for fourth out of 13 teams in last year's season opener with Wyndom Burnett and Christian Eisenbeiss leading the way in the top 10 individuals.
- Burnett turned her collegiate debut at Wisconsin last season into her first career ASUN Women's Golfer of the Week.
- Four of the five players who competed last season return on this year's Osprey roster.
- UNF has placed among the top five teams each of the past five years during its season opener and looks to win their first season-opening tourney in program history.
- This will be the first of four fall tournaments with all four of them spanning over three days.
- The field includes 15 teams total, including multiple Power Five teams such as Indiana, Iowa, Rutgers and Wisconsin.
- UNF will have a lineup of two seniors, a redshirt junior, a junior and a freshman.
- One round of 18 holes total will be played on each day from Sunday through Tuesday.
- North Florida will be grouped with Delaware and UC Davis for the first round on Saturday, Sept. 17, with the first start time at 10:21 a.m., off the 10th hole.
- UNF will tee off on the 1st or 10th hole for the second round on Monday, Sept. 18, followed by the final round's shotgun start on Tuesday, Sept. 19.
FROM THE 19TH HOLE
- Eisenbeiss comes into her senior season as the reigning ASUN Women's Co-Golfer of the Year and was the lone Osprey to qualify for the NCAA regional round last season. She also looks to make her fourth consecutive All-ASUN team, as well as her fourth ASUN All-Tournament team this season.
- Washburn played in eight tournaments last season and looks to take the next step after making her debut as a part of the team score in 2022. After a top-30 finish at the ASUN meet, she will bring her momentum from the end of last season into her redshirt junior year.
- Kashima is set to make her collegiate debut with the Ospreys on Friday after attending high school at Montverde Academy. During IJGA competition, she placed in the top 10 for all 17 tourneys played and was named the Player of the Year for the amateur league in 2021-22.
- Allendesalazar is the second newcomer to make her debut for UNF in the season opener, as she transfers in as a junior from Central Michigan. She is well accomplished in her time at CMU after setting the program record for season scoring average as a freshman (74.20).
- Cai rounds out the group of five UNF players that will compete towards the team score. She had a stellar season that earned her a Third-Team All-ASUNÂ and was selected to the CSC All-Academic Team in 2023.
- Burnett also joins as an unattached individual for the Wisconsin meet. The redshirt sophomore won ASUN Freshman of the Week in her collegiate debut and finished the year as a part of the ASUN All-Freshman team.
