Ospreys to Host Five Meets, Home and Season Opener September 29
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's swimming reveals its schedule for the 2023-24 competition season, with five meets to be hosted at the UNF Competition Pool Complex, the most since it opened in 2021.
"I'm really looking forward to this season", head coach Ian Coffey said. "We will be hosting teams from the ACC, AAC, and the newly formed ASUN conference. Every meet we have is going to be very competitive. For the second straight year we'll be hosting the Osprey Invite to start off the year, followed by a two day meet with Tulane. Returning to the Gamecock Invite at midseason is going to see where we are at that point in our training. Starting the second half of the season with four weeks of competition in a row is going to prepare us for the ASUN Championships."
Defending the Home Pool
The Ospreys play host to three meets to kick off the competition season, starting with the Osprey Invite, September 29-30. The following week, UNF welcomes Tulane for a dual meet from October 6-7 and closes out the home stand against Georgia Southern, October 14.Â
In the spring, the Ospreys will host FGCU, January 12 and SCAD, January 20
Tournaments
UNF hit the road for the first time, October 20, participating in the FSU Quad Meet. The Ospreys head to South Carolina for the second straight year to take part in the Gamecock Invite, November 15-17.
During the Christmas intermission, UNF will compete in the CSCAA Open Water Swim for the first time since the 2018-19 competition season. Â
The ASUN Championships will be hosted in Knoxville, Tenn. February 21-24.Â
The Ospreys will also take part in the 2024 National Invitational Championships Invite in Ocala, Fla., March 14-16.
Familiar Foes
UNF will face two of its most seasoned opponents in Georgia Southern and FGCU twice throughout the 2023-24 season. The Ospreys have faced both teams a combined 49 times in the program's history.Â
