JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida softball (29-22-1, 10-12-1 ASUN) fell in extra innings to Jacksonville (24-26, 10-13 ASUN), 5-4, in the second game of the River City Rumble on Friday evening at the UNF Softball Complex.
The Ospreys held a three-run advantage through four innings after blasts from
Hadlee Reichert and
Logan Jackson. A pair of runs in the fifth followed by a score in the sixth for JU led to the go-ahead home run in the eighth to set up a rubber match on Saturday night with major postseason implications.

- After Izzy Kelly spun two scoreless, UNF got on the board in the second.
- Mackenzie Woods laced a liner to center that a JU outfielder dove for and missed, sending Jackson home from first and Woods to third.
- JU got even in the second after a single and RBI double off the wall.
- Reichert homered halfway up the palm tree in left for a 2-1 lead in the fourth.
- Jackson tagged a low fastball over the right center wall for a 4-1 lead in the fourth.
- JU used a double, error and two bunts to get within 4-3 after the top of the fifth.
- They got another double in the sixth into right field to tie the game at four each.
- Another score in the eighth off a home run from the Dolphins gave them the go-ahead lead to win game two in extras.

- Reichert's solo home run in the third inning was the first of the her career in her second year.
- Jackson tagged her fourth homer of the season and her first since one at Central Arkansas on Mar. 18.
- Was also her eighth game this season with multiple RBIs, trailing only Chloe Culp on the team who has nine total.
- Culp added her 14th multi-hit game as well, trailing only Shannon Glover who has 15 total.
- Only the second loss to the Dolphins in their past seven matchups.
- In a win-or-go-home game on Saturday for a chance to make the ASUN postseason, the Ospreys have not lost back-to-back games in conference play since Liberty on Apr. 7-8.
