Finishes 11th Overall With a Personal-Best Time

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Macauley Franks recorded the best time of his career in the 3000m steeplechase at 8:48.12 to break his own school record in the race at the Visit Jax Track on Friday evening. He placed fifth in the final heat of the competition and 11th overall among the 48-person field of the nation's top athletes.

In his third steeplechase race of the season, he put up his best time at the NCAA meet after placing 10th at the Raleigh Relays to qualify for the national regionals and a fifth overall finish at the ASUN Championship. It was also the 12th time this season that Franks has placed in the top 11 of an outdoor race with the Ospreys.

FINISH LINE

Franks earned his career-best 3000mS time as a graduate transfer in the final race of his collegiate career.
His time of 8:48.12 was the 11th-best time overall and the fifth-best in his heat.
The former D-II All-American has now rewritten the program's record book for the second time this outdoor season in the steeple.
He also holds the school record for the 1-mile race from this past indoor season to currently hold two school records.
He finishes his outdoor season has an All-ASUN First Team selection in the 1500m, an ASUN All-Academic Team member and the ASUN Outdoor Athlete of the Week on May 3, 2023.
