Ospreys Conclude Regular Season With 21-9 Mark

BATON ROUGE, La. - UNF highlighted day two at the Tiger Beach Challenge with some record book-altering performances as North Florida tied the program regular season team wins record and Chantel McMillan moved into third all-time in victories.

The Ospreys (21-9) swept Nicholls (2-26) before coming up short against No. 5 LSU (23-10) in the regular season finale as teams played to clinch in advance of inclement weather.

North Florida's win against Nichols tied UNF's 21-win tally from last year, while McMillan reached win number 64 in her career, breaking a tie with Lauren Galinis for third.

Hayden Wooldridge also moved into sole possession of 15th all-time in wins, reaching 45 to break a tie with volunteer assistant coach, Madilyn McCarty. Madison Espy and Presley Murray closed out their first regular season in third all-time for single season winning percentage, while also first for all freshmen in North Florida history for the same category.

Head coach Doug Wright has gone 42-21 through his first two regular seasons at the helm of the UNF beach volleyball program.

North Florida finished one of its quickest matches of the season to open the day, getting sweeps at the first, fourth and fifth slots, including two sets won without permitting Nicholls to reach double-digits.

McMillan and Hayden Wooldridge were one of those winning courts, bringing each student-athlete to a new milestone in their respective career-wins rankings.

North Florida and No. 5 LSU played in another abbreviated match as teams rushed to get their matches in ahead of an approaching storm in Louisiana. North Florida was within range across a number of courts, coming up short against one of the top teams in the country to close out the weekend.
