Yates Leads Ospreys With Share of 34th Overall

STATESBORO, Ga. - North Florida men's golf played its fourth round in five days after teeing off for the first round of the Schenkel Invitational hosted by Georgia Southern on Friday afternoon.

Lance Yates led the way for the Ospreys with a score of 2-over 74 to put him tied for 34th overall on the player's leaderboard. The redshirt junior is looking to lead UNF as the top team scorer for the first time in his career.

ROUND REFLECTIONS

Yates had three birdies, including the 18th hole, to score 2-over 74 as the top UNF score.
Robbie Higgins had the most Osprey birdies on the day with four total on his way to a 3-over 75.
His opening round of four birdies included three straight to close out the front nine.
Both Yates and Higgins had a top-10 par-five average with each player sitting at 2-under (4.50).
Davis Lee was just outside the top 50 individuals with three birdies to sit at 4-over 76 after round one.
Jason Duff leads the team in pars with 13 total, which is also top 10 in the field, to card 5-over 77.
Cody Carroll closed out the team score joining Duff at 5-over 77 with birdie on the eighth hole.
Alejandro Ramos played as an unattached individual once again with a score of 8-over 80.
UNF combined for 54 total pars and 12 total birdies in the first round of play at Georgia Southern.
